We look after our people
We have a much larger core admin team than most consultancies, despite our small size. There are more of us to look after you, so you get proper personal attention. We’re always available – and if you come to a Scroll social, you’ll get to know us in person. Some Scrollies have worked with us since we started in 2004, which we hope is testament to both the level of care you get and the excellent work we offer!

We find the right work for you
We want to find work that will suit you. We’ll work with you closely to understand what you want and try to support your choices and find you the right contracts, in the right sector. The bulk of our work is for government (from small agencies to really big departments), but we also work for the corporate sector, charities and education. So if it’s career development on a landmark project you’re after, we can do that, but equally we can find something that works well around your young kids, or both.
We absolutely do not operate a ‘bums on seats’ policy – we pick and choose the work we do, and matchmake people carefully.

We pay you fairly and on time
We get good rates because we do good work. Low overheads mean we can afford to pass on more of our rates to our Scrollies. The percentage we charge our clients is very reasonable compared to lots of other consultancies. And we pay on time – or even early if you need the funds urgently.
We look after you through the life of every project
We won’t dump you on a project and walk away. We have checkpoints with you and the client. We don’t tolerate poor behaviour or unfair expectations from clients, and we encourage you to pick up the phone and call us if you get stuck.
Beck is our core team member dedicated to support. She’s an experienced content designer and her role includes giving you behind-the-scenes help and advice. She can help you unblock problems and solve content dilemmas. Or you can pick up the phone and chat to anyone else in the core team about your project, your latest retro or your holiday plans.
We help you deal with admin and steer you safely through IR35
It’s dull, but we’ve all got to do it: security clearance, contracting, IR35. The difference with Scroll is you get help all the way through. Meanwhile we keep our own admin light and hassle-free – if you work for Scroll, all you need is to invoice us once a month with details of the dates and a few bullet points about the work you’ve done.
